A comparison between peripheral and central venous pressure monitoring under clinical conditions

      The hypothesis, based on laboratory evidence, that monitoring the peripheral venous pressure can produce similar diagnostic information to the measurement of central venous pressure is examined by a comparative study under clinical conditions. It is shown that this hypothesis is untenable under these circumstances.
