The method of drilling for submarine deposits of gas is described briefly, with an
account of the necessary supporting services, and of the hazards and methods of dealing
with them. Helicopters play an important part in day to day supply and emergency visits
and evacuations. The high cost of all these operations places a premium on prompt
and effective medical care both at sea and ashore.
