      Abstract

Proximal radioulnar translocation in association with posterior dislocation of the elbow in childhood is a very rare injury. The aetiology is considered to be iatrogenic, resulting from an inappropriate reduction technique. Two cases are described that challenge this view. A mechanism of injury to explain translocation at the time of injury is proposed.
